Biography

UNFD is thrilled to announce the signing of Canberra band, Hands Like Houses, in partnership with U.S label Rise Records for Australia and New Zealand.

Formed in 2008, the band signed to Rise Records in 2012 and released their debut album Ground Dweller, which debuted at No. 141 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. 2013 album, Unimagine debuted at #37 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart and was followed with massive acclaim and worldwide notoriety that has lead to unprecedented anticipation for their upcoming album, Dissonants, due to be released in January 2016.

“So excited to announce that we are now part of the UNFD family! WOOHOO! A great team, full of awesome bands and friends, we can’t wait for what this next year is going to hold!” says guitarist Alex Pearson.

UNFD’s Luke Logemann says on the signing “Everyone at UNFD is a huge fan of Hands Like Houses, both musically and as people. We’ve been hanging to work with them for a while now, and we’re stoked to kick it all off. These guys are one of the hardest working bands in the country, and they’ve won over fans all across the world for a reason.  Also, ‘I Am’ and ‘New Romantics”’are already two of the best songs of 2015. This album is going to be huge!”

The band released stand alone single ‘I Am’ earlier this year, and this week released ‘New Romantics’, the first official single from the forthcoming album. Vocalist Trenton Woodley says of the track, “New Romantics is about the way we fall into patterns in everything we do – the way we live, the way we think, the way we create – but we are curiously aware of those same patterns so we are always trying to move forward in spite of them. It feels coincidentally perfect that this is the first song from Dissonants that we put out to our fans, we had a blast playing it on Warped, and can’t wait to finally release some new music – we’ve been just as impatient as anyone!”
